Code_Aster is an open source software. One immediately thinks of the free nature of the product. But it goes much further. By definition, its sources are open and allow the developer to modify and add other sources to implement new features. The budget saved by the non-payment of license of a commercial code can be spent on development of tailormade tools in order to acquire a significant competitive advantage.

We developed in Python the macro command MACRO_DYNA_VISCO to perform calculations of normal modes and frequency response functions , taking into account the frequency dependence of the mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials . Two scientific publications describe the methodology and results:
